We Run C-H-I

A week from today, 45,000 will compete in the Chicago Marathon. The race is one of the World Marathon Majors (Chicago, Boston, NYC, London and Berlin).  The race draws out the best in the world...including the best from Nike.

Say hello to the fourth edition of the Chicago Marathon LunarGlide...

Arguably the most comfortable running model to date, the LunarGlide 4.

The shoe features Flywire for a glove-like fit and is now lighter than the previous models (10 oz even).  The midsole is pearlized and has extra reflectivity for low light visibility.

The LunarLon cushioning remains my favorite from Nike, offering a cushy ride.  You can see the red Flywire threads cradling the midfoot here.

The shoe also features Dynamic Support for stability and has Nike Plus capability to track your runs.

Which model do you like best?  The 1st (see pic), 2nd (see pic), 3rd (see pic) or 4th (see pic) edition?  Comment below!

iHype

Not that I was beasting on these, but I thought this was a unique way to release a pair of sneakers...

The Nike x SC Galaxy Zoom Rookie dropped today for people who downloaded the latest Sole Collector issue via iPad.  You then had an opportunity to purchase the shoes thru the SC app.

Off The Wall

I never thought I'd be saying this, but Reebok is making comeback.

Whether you are at the gym (Crossfit trainers) or a sneaker shop (return of the Iverson Questions, Pumps, Shaqnosis & Kamikaze), the Vector has returned. You can even find Stash doing a RBK collabo...

And then there is John Wall, Reebok's lone pony in the NBA superstar signature shoe race.

While Wall doesn't share the popularity of his Nike counterparts LeBron, Kobe or Durant, he does highlight Reebok's energy-based ZigTech technology...

The third installment of the Reebok JW11 shoe drops soon (the Wall Zig Escape), but today check out pics of his second shoe, the Wall Zig Encore...

The Eagle Has Landed, Part 2

As discussed just over a week ago, my pair of Penny V "Red Eagles" have landed!

This weekend I finally got around to taking pics. Enjoy!

Toe Up?

Nike SB Dunk hype back?  The Nike SB x Levi's release of the Nike Dunk Low Premiums last weekend may spark it.

As much as I like this duo (a rare black/red pair & even rarer navy blue pair), I can't get over the shape of the toebox. Its boxy and just light years away from the original shape of the Dunk.

Compliments to Kicks Hawaii for the pics.

26.2

The Chicago Marathon is just one month away and that usually means some special edition shoes for the event. While Chicago's is the largest marathon entry-wise, the toughest to qualify for is the Boston Marathon. Here is a peek at a New Balance beauty from earlier this year...

The New Balance 890 V2 "Boston Marathon" edition feature vibrant colors on one of NB's newer, more modern shoes.

For you Nike folks, imagine a LunarGlide that doesn't have the same cushioning, but breathes a bit better and feels a bit lighter.

I've only used these at the gym so far, so I'll let you know how they perform on the road in the near future!

The Ape is back!

One of America's favorite sneaker shops collaborated with one of Japan's favorite street brands to create an adidas collaboration for the ages...

Peep this adidas ZX5000 UNDFTD x Bathing Ape dropping Oct 26.  Bathing Ape-influence camo meets UNDFTD/USA red-white-blue. #amusthave

(Clima) Cool Your Heels

I call this the "poor man's Free"...

The adidas ClimaCool Aerate, for $78 retail, gets you the same comfort and flexibility of the Nike Free.

Some of the other colorways are plain, but I dig this vibrant Seattle Seahawks colorway.

The Eagle Has Landed, Part 1

After a long layoff since the last Anferenee Hardaway signature shoe (Penny IV), the first colorway of the Penny V drops tomorrow...the "Red Eagle".  The colorway is inspired by Hardaway’s high school alma mater (the Treadwell Eagles).

Clear outsole FTW!  I'm hoping to score a pair myself...stay tuned!

♆ (yes, thats a pitchfork)

Say hello to the Asics Gel Saga "Neptune", designed by Ronnie Fieg...

Named after the Roman "God of the Sea", this Kith-only release dropped in super limited numbers back in July. The trident symbol in the title is the astronomical symbol for Neptune.

The shoe features a perforated grey sueded upper with hits of lavender and cove blue. These also came with three sets of laces (grey/cove, lavender (flat) and grey (flat).

The quality on these is bonkers.

Since I missed the Hanon "Chosen Few" NB1500 drop, I didn't know if I would recover.  Then I saw these...

The latest Undefeated New Balance collabo mixes the likes of La MJC and collete to craft this UCLA Bruin-inspired beauty.

Now, onto the hunt...

Take A Hike

I can't begin to tell you how many New Balance 574s I purchase and never wear.  I always see a hot colorway and think "I'll wear these for sure."  Not sure if its the sneaker elitist in me, but I just never do it.

But for the fall, I found one. Check out the New Balance 574 "Backpack Pack"...

No crazy European sneaker store collabo here...just a colorway that emulates a Jansport backpack.

The two best parts about these are the brown leathered details and the upper being made of the same material a backpack is made from.

The blue pair from this Backpack Pack looks pretty nice too.  Let's just stick with one for now :)
